How to check system requirements (Mac)

Students should only use a desktop or laptop computer running the minimum required version of Windows or MacOS. Some actions in the classroom (assignment submissions, discussion posts, video uploads, etc.) use background processes native to the operating system that are not supported or available on Chromebooks, mobile phones, or tablets.
Check CPU, memory, and operating system:
1. Click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen
2. Choose About This Mac

a. Chip = CPU
b. Memory = Memory
c. macOS = OS (operating system)
Check available free space:
1. Click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen
2. Select System Settings
3. Click General on the sidebar
4. Select Storage, then All Volumes
5. Available storage will be shown in the light gray area

Check network connection speed:
1. In your web browser, go to www.google.com
2. Search for Speed test
3. Click Run Speed Test

4. Wait for the test to finish, your results will appear here:
